Senior SEO Manager

Checkatrade’s mission is to be the trusted foundation of every home by connecting people with the trades and tools to make home improvements easy. We are looking for an experience SEO Manager to join our team and work with some truly fantastic Marketing professionals. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing effective strategies to improve Checkatrade’s organic search rankings, increase website traffic, and drive online growth. The role will involves a mix of strategic planning, technical SEO expertise, and data analysis to ensure Checkatrade’s website is optimised for search engines and aligned with our business goals. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless implementation and alignment of SEO strategies. Sound good? Location: Kings Cross, London. Hybrid working applies with 3 days in the office minimum.
Where do you fit in?
Reporting to the Head of SEO, you’ll be responsible for the design and execute of our comprehensive SEO strategies that improve organic search performance, increase organic traffic, and drive conversions across both web platforms. You’ll conduct thorough keyword research to guide content creation, optimise existing content, and ensure alignment with business goals. You’ll manage all aspects of technical SEO, including site audits, crawl error resolution, URL structure, sitemaps, and schema markup. Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap and backlog for technical SEO improvements, working closely with Product and Engineering teams to implement and achieve goals. You’ll perform regular competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth and areas where Checkatrade can gain a competitive edge. What do you need to succeed?
- Significant experience in SEO, with a proven track record of improving search rankings and driving organic growth.
- Experience with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog, etc.
- An understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high growth environment with hands-on experience implementing strategy (content, technical or off-page) to grow users
