Where do you fit in?
As a Staff Engineer at Checkatrade, you’ll take ownership of our Trade Products, key sales flows, product setup, and lead monetisation, directly impacting our core revenue streams. You’ll play a vital role in balancing supply and demand across diverse sectors and locations, ensuring we offer tailored products for every Trade member. Working predominantly with .NET on the backend, you’ll also need to bring strong React, TypeScript, and full-stack expertise to the table. Your ability to break down complex product requirements and structure scalable technical solutions, while documenting along the way, will be crucial to Checkatrade’s success.

What do you need to succeed?
- Experience within a Staff Engineer role where you can bring hands-on leadership experience
- Full stack with extensive .NET experience, and a polygot approach to technology
- Proven expertise in software system design, architecture, development and testing
- Strong ability to break complex requirements into component parts and develop a clear technical vision
- Experience working in a two-sided marketplace, scale-ups or big tech environments
- Familiarity with subscription-based sales journeys or ad-tech/campaigns is a strong advantage
