Checkatrade is the go-to marketplace for trades and consumers alike and we are on a mission to be the trusted foundation of every home. Our trade-facing commercial teams present one of the larger growth opportunities available to the platform and we are looking for someone with experience in commercial strategy execution, enterprise GTM, and new acquisitions to increase our trade base. We are looking for a Senior Strategic Growth Lead to join our Strategic Growth team in the GTM department. This role will be focused on new trade acquisitions and require cross-functional collaboration with account management, marketplace operations, and marketplace health to ensure that your categories are growing.

Where do you fit in?
Reporting to the Senior Manager (Commercial Strategy & Sales), you’ll drive revenue growth by acquiring new medium - large trade businesses. You’ll identify high-potential trades, build proposals that address client specific needs, negotiate contract terms and ensure a smooth transition to the onboarding team. You’ll leverage data-driven insights to determine overall market penetration and competitive positioning of Checkatrade to identify new opportunities and gaps in categories. In addition you will work with Account Management, Vetting, Product, and Operations to assess regions and categories that can benefit from our product and build strategic business cases for most probable acquisitions. Whilst building your knowledge across a variety of our products and tailor business cases and proposals accordingly.

What do you need to succeed?
- Previous experience of commercial and new sales experience in similar markets or industries.
- Experience in identifying potential new clients, and proposal development, with a proven track record in achieving revenue targets and commercial techniques.
- Strong negotiator and value proposition developer who can structure the product around business and client needs.
- The communication skills to be able to build strong, trusting relationships with trades people and internal teams.
- The ability to analyse data, generate actionable insights, track progress, and ensure accurate reporting for future forecasts.
- Capable of managing cross functional responsibilities and initiatives to continuously improve ways or working and contribute ideas to brainstorming sessions with the team.
- Experienced in customer relationship building and communication skills, whether digitally or in-person.
- Experience using CRM (Salesforce), outreach tools, and AI optimisation tools.
