We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical experience with people leadership, driving innovation and scalability across our core platform. You’ll work closely with a talented team of engineers, empowering growth while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
Location: Kings Cross, London or Portsmouth. Hybrid working.
Where do you fit in?
As Engineering Manager of the Platform team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our platforms future. From championing infrastructure as code practices with Terraform to leveraging Kubernetes and Helm for container orchestration to ensure our platform is robust, scalable and reliable. You’ll also oversee efficient CI/CD pipelines, observability with Datadog, and adopt SRE practices to keep us running smoothly.
This isn’t just a technical role – it’s about people too. You’ll recruit and develop top tier engineering talent, set clear goals, and build a high performing, innovative team. Collaboration will also be key, as you work closely with application development and security teams to deliver solutions.

What do you need to succeed?
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- A strong technical background in cloud-native technologies like GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and Datadog.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as a Golang, Python, or JavaScript.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, which a knack for fostering strong cross functional relationships.
- A passion for automation, DevOps, and SRE practices.
- An understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Backstage, ArgoCD, or chaos engineering principles.
- Google Cloud platform certifications.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
