  • Strategy & Operations Manager (Advertising)

Our Trade Innovation team is at the forefront of this mission, tasked with identifying new ways to meet the ever-evolving needs of our members. As a Strategy & Operations Manager within the Trade Innovation team, you will focus on building and accelerating the growth of our advertising and media products. You will shape the future of advertising within our ecosystem and unlock new growth opportunities for our company. This role calls for a combination of business strategy, operational excellence, and problem-solving. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

    Location: King's Cross, London. Hybrid working applies, 4 days in the office, 1 day at home per week.

    Where do you fit in?

    Reporting to the Managing Director of Trade Innovation, you’ll play a key role in setting the strategy and delivering a roadmap of initiatives to shape the future of Checkatrade. You will:

    • Own a roadmap of initiatives to build and improve new advertising products and revenue streams.
    • Conduct experiments and A/B tests to build the right monetisation strategy and go-to-market plan for new products.
    • Design, implement, and optimise processes across the business to improve agility and accelerate innovation.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making.
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate closely with teams including product, marketing, sales, and finance to drive alignment and execution.
    • Develop and implement performance metrics and KPIs to measure the success and effectiveness of growth initiatives.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

    What do you need to succeed?

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or STEM-related field.
    • Experience in management consulting, business development, or operations in a large business or a growing start-up.
    • Strong cross-functional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and drive alignment towards common goals.
    • Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking, with a track record of developing and executing growth initiatives that deliver measurable results.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Exceptional analytical skills, with proficiency in SQL and Excel required and proven ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear and compelling narratives.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovation and driving positive change.
