Senior Purchase Ledger Officer

Our Finance team are pivotal to our success as a growing scale-up and so we are now looking for an AAT-qualified experienced Senior Purchase Ledger Officer to join our busy Corporate Finance function. You will provide a professional accounting service in respect of processing supplier invoices, expenses and credit cards. Our fast-paced, digital business with an abundance of ideas requires a similarly fast-paced individual who can ensure timely payment of supplier liabilities. Checkatrade has significant growth ambitions, and this role will be central to selecting and prioritising those initiatives to deliver on our short and long-term goals. Sound good? Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire. Hybrid working applies. 3 days in the office minimum. 

Where do you fit in?

Reporting to our Head of Corporate Finance, you will form part of a growing team which has gone from strength to strength. You’ll monitor and review spend levels and ensure all liabilities are accrued at month end or prepaid where necessary. You’ll oversee the Purchase Ledger and assist/train other departments in raising purchase orders through the purchase requisition tool (Sicon), making sure that they are correctly authorised using the delegated authority matrix. You’ll be setting up new suppliers using SAGE200 whilst raising journals for invoice and POs accruals. You’ll be the go-to person to prepare and arrange payments through BACS or HSBC quick pay. What do you need to succeed?

• AAT or similar with previous experience in a similar role. 
• Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role with the ability to coach others.
• Sound experience of using SAGE or similar software to process invoices and expenses.
• Previous experience in processing payments, raising invoices, and raising POs.
• Excellent people skills – confident and credible with a consultative and collaborative approach that engages teams and leaders alike.
