Checkatrade -The trusted foundation of every home

Are you awesome at admin? A spelling specialist? A grammar guru? If you have an eagle eye for detail and can remain as cool as a cucumber when working to deadlines, then you’ll be a perfect fit for our friendly Directories Production team. This is no ordinary admin role – our business is growing, so we can offer you a great career, not just a job.

Where do you fit in?

You’ll join the team who produce the 80 million Checkatrade directories delivered to households across the UK. Reporting to the Directory Production Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for the creation and inclusion of correct content in our Directories (on brief and on time). You will create and amend adverts on Adobe InDesign, ensuring they all are expertly proofread and ready for printing. Using excellent attention to detail, you’ll keep our records accurate and up to date. You’ll be part of a small friendly team who share their workload, ensuring that you’ll have a variety of tasks to get your teeth into.

What’s in it for you?
  • The chance to play a key role in our future, with lots of training and help to succeed.
  • An excellent benefits package, including paid birthday leave, discounts from a wide range of retailers, a healthcare cash plan, a scheme to help you buy the latest bikes or tech gadgets plus lots more.
  • £21,840 per annum.

We are an equal opportunities employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

What do you need to succeed?
  • Excellent English and PC skills.  Spelling, punctuation, and grammar will be outstanding, along with amazing attention to detail.
  • You’ll bring a can-do attitude with a willingness to learn. You will demonstrate the ability to use the company's internal CRM Web Office, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and future content management systems.
  • Experience with a wide range of admin tasks. You’ll be happy to answer calls and emails, be flexible to work to print deadlines and assist with other business requirements.
  • 35 Hours per week, Monday to Friday – currently 9am to 5pm. Flexibility will be required to meet print deadlines.
