Strategic Account Manager

We are looking for experienced Strategic Account Managers to join our team in London. You’ll be responsible for driving Checkatrade’s long-term commercial relationships with our biggest trade partners in the UK, helping these businesses grow sustainably while also delivering the best experience to our homeowners. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a market-leading digital business with huge growth potential and the means and investment to deliver on it! Location - Kings Cross, London. Hybrid working applies. 4 days in the office per week, 1 day working from home.

Where do you fit in?

We are on a really exciting growth journey and we want you to help drive that! But it’s not just about us – we are looking for someone who is truly customer-obsessed and can help our accounts grow their businesses! Developing plans to add new locations, experiment with new trade categories and optimize their current positioning to homeowners, you will lead quarterly review sessions with our trade partners to review progress and see the plans come into fruition. You will ensure we are delivering value to our customers and that their day-to-day experience is seamless. 

Thinking big and bold, you will analyse the performance of your accounts, identify and suggest opportunities and improvements which are mutually beneficial to them and Checkatrade. Alongside this you will continually drive the adoption of new products and features available, providing structured feedback from our partners on these products to internal teams where needed. 

It's not just about improving our current products though; you can use your market insights to propose new services too, as you will work closely with internal stakeholders throughout the business to tackle problems and unlock opportunities.

What do you need to succeed?
 
  • Experience working as an Account Manager at this level within a commercial function.
  • A "can do” mindset - eager to learn, able to solve problems and identify new opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at the various levels within our strategic accounts, always thinking about ways to improve the service for them.
  • Ability to develop joint business plans with our strategic partners and deliver against these while achieving personal objectives.
  • Confident in digesting data and using this to draw relevant insights to drive decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Strong verbal and written skills. Ability to translate account feedback and market insights into actionable proposals for internal teams. Ability to effectively present data and recommendations to senior leaders at strategic accounts and influence decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites.
  • BA Degree.
