We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & Insights function here at Checkatrade. Our mission is to be the trusted foundation of every home. Why? Location: Portsmouth or London based. Hybrid working applies. 3 days per week in the office minimum.

Where do you fit in?

You will have a unique opportunity to leverage the power of data and cloud technologies to develop data products that aim to improve internal and external processes, generate revenue, and enhance exciting existing and future products. You’ll work across various business functions democratising our data to the wider business by delivering a consistent, accurate and user-friendly semantic layer. Not only that, but you will also work closely with the wider data team to empower them with data and enhance their solutions. This is an amazing chance to grow our state-of-the-art data architecture and have an immediate impact on the needs of the business.

What do you need to succeed?

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Data Engineer
  • Strong Data Architecture knowledge for cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS
  • Strong knowledge of MPP systems such as Athena, BigQuery, EMR, Hive, Iceberg
  • Hands-on knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • A drive to learn and grow and keep up to date with the latest advancements of technology!
