Billing Accountant

We are looking for ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified Billing Accountant to join our busy Finance function. You will be responsible for ensuring the billing processes and controls are established for all elements of the billing process, from invoice generation to reporting and audit compliance. You’ll have good technical knowledge of revenue recognition across the Checkatrade product set and to advise on the impacts to revenue of new products as they are developed. Acting as a lead to the Billing Specialists team, you will help to identify and drive the resolution of issues on the billing system, coordinating with the system development teams to prioritise and deliver the solution. Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire. Hybrid working applies, 2 days in the Portsmouth office, 3 days working from home.

As a membership organisation with circa 47,000 trade members, our Finance team are pivotal to our success as a growing scale up. Reporting to our Billing Finance Manager, you will support leading the team of finance billing specialists in the control and audit of the Billing and revenue recognition. Supporting the Specialist National Account teams as well as the wider customer base. You’ll ensure all audit and compliance checks are completed on time to maintain the health of the financial systems used in the billing process, ensuring all systems have consistent and matching information and inconsistencies are resolved. You’ll ensure Revenue Recognition is in line with the contractual obligations and Accounting Standards whilst monitoring Tax compliance and debt reporting is controlled and applied correctly. What do you need to succeed?
- ACCA / ACA / CIMA Part Qualified with a few years’ experience.
- Solid technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and FRS).
- Able to identify root cause issues and apply corrective action.
- Strong commercial acumen with advanced numeric capability.
- Knowledge of SAGE 200, Salesforce and Zuora Billing engine would be a bonus!
