We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead UX Researcher to join our growing product and user experience team. You'll work for a fast-moving digital marketplace organisation and help to provide actionable and meaningful data-driven insights that will help to improve product definition and drive our business goals. You'll operate in a fully Agile team and will be focussed on delivering brilliant end to end customer experiences.   You'll be collaborative and passionate with courage to risk new ways of doing things. Ultimately, you will deliver on Checkatrade growth agenda through effective product design, keeping customers at heart at all times! Sound good? We'd love to hear from you. 

Location: Kings Cross, London. Hybrid working applies with 2 days in the office, 3 days at home.

Our vision is to make Checkatrade the number one place homeowners go to get their jobs done by quality tradespeople. Reporting to the Head of UX, you’ll maintain and develop the company’s in-house research facility. You’ll take a pragmatic approach to delivering research, and always choose the right tools for the job! You'll collaborate closely with product and development colleagues on the UX design vision and  advocate UX across your team and the wider business. Additionally, you’ll own and manage the end-to-end research activities – recruitment, planning, execution, analysis and insight delivery.

What do you need to succeed?
  • Solid understanding and application of user-centred design principles and heuristics.
  • Experience with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, contextual interviews, guerrilla research, remote testing, focus groups and analytics.
  • Ability to identify best methods to answer UX research questions, prioritising and adapting to meet time and opportunity constraints.
  • Solid presentation skills, and experience communicating user-centred research findings to a large number of stakeholders in a persuasive and engaging way.
  • Experience of working in an agile environment and developing digital products across multiple platforms and devices.
