We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Contracts Specialist to join our Portsmouth based Procurement team. Pulling on your contract expertise you will draft and review contracts, run RFPs as well as assist with the day to day running of the Procurement department. This includes communicating with both internal and external supply base as well as working with various functions internally to truly understand the nature and purpose of each new contract. 47,000 trade members and growing, this is an exciting time to join us!
Location: Portsmouth. Hybrid working applies. 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home.
Where do you fit in?
Reporting to the Procurement Manager your role will be to undertake first line review of supplier contracts ensuring due diligence is completed and providing a mark-up of the contract, its dependencies, our obligations, Data Protection (DP) implications and information security concerns. This includes working closely with Data Protection, Legal, Information Security as well as other internal stakeholders to ensure needs of the business are appropriately represented across our contractual engagements. As a first point of contact with suppliers, you will undertake negotiations on contractual terms, support the business with supplier sourcing as well as run RFP exercises as and when required. Your remit will be to cover a variety of different types of commercial and supplier contracts ensuring the best interest of the business is represented and risk managed accordingly.

What do you need to succeed?
- Previous experience in a similar procurement/ contract specialist role with sound expertise across contract negotiations, review, mark-up and drafting on services or software contracts.
- A strong understanding of contract law principles and sound commercial acumen.
- Confidence to influence people at all levels, both internal and external.
- Adaptable and flexible with resilience and pace to operate in a fast moving agile digital business.
